Hacking the Afterlife with Jennifer Shaffer, Anthy, Jonathan Krane and Tom Petty

Another mind bending podcast, this one about music and frequency.  Luana began by directing us to an event that had occurred earlier in the day, when I went to visit her friend Sally Kellerman.  We talked about Sally's husband on the flipside, my old friend who produced 3 of my films. My mother, a concert pianist stopped by to refer to a photograph I was working with on my latest book a few days ago. Then Tom Petty stopped by. As noted before, I have never asked Tom to stop by - each time he does it's related to something that we are discussing. In this case, it was the energy of music or how frequency works on the flipside. As noted in the podcast, he asked us to reach out to someone whom I did reach out to - who said "I wish that I could speak to Tom, but I don't  believe you are speaking to him."  Not everyone is open to the possibility that our loved ones still exist - and further, it can be annoying when a complete stranger says "Hey, I was talking to your pal the other day." But we have to allow for the possibility that they're outside of time and space and can reach out to us. In this case, I wanted to know some details about music on the other side - not his personal journey, or who he is hanging out with, but specifically what frequency is, what music is, and how we download it. His answers are unusual and profound. Again, Jennifer and I have been doing this for over five years. We have on numerous occasions learned new information from folks on the flipside, information that cannot be cryptomnesia or something either one of us dreamed, heard or made up. But I have to note that not everyone is supposed to embrace the idea of "knowing how the play ends before it does."  So one does not have to "believe" that Jennifer and I are speaking to a specific individual, but it helps if one is "open to the possibility" that some form of communication continues on, and those closest to their loved ones can take the time or make the effort to chat with them one on one. As he noted, this is only about the 3rd time he's shown up, when we have quoted, cited, or otherwise let others take the podium - Prince, Robin Williams and others.  I do not have any direct connection with Tom - despite being a music critic for Variety for a number of years, I never reviewed his shows, never met him backstage as I have with many others who have shown up in our class.  I directed Ray Charles in a feature film, so basically anyone that Ray knows could show up at any minute. We have interviewed a member of the Traveling Wilburys before, so that may be the connection - or to someone else that Luana knows on the flipside that I'm not aware of.  But like everyone else who shows up in our classroom, if Luana has "put them on the list" I assume they're showing up for a reason. It was Tom who coined the title of our three books; "Backstage Pass to the Flipside" when he noted that "talking to us, getting onto Luana's clipboard was like someone trying to get backstage to the VIP lounge.  If "the name is not on the list" they don't get a chance to speak. No other way to put it.  Prior to the session, I noted the time and date and the fact I was going to invite two folks to our session. I had no idea if Jennifer would be aware of it, as I hadn't spoken to her about who I was going to invite.

One was Tom Petty, in honor of his birthday,  the other "The Amazing Randi" who passed a couple of days earlier.

 For those aware of our connection to Tom, it's not that we knew him, or Luana Anders on the Flipside knew him - it was because, as noted in the video, he came forward soon after his passing in 2017 to visit us at our local restaurant where Jennifer and I used to meet before the Pandemic.

She remembered his name that day (and did not this day!) But as noted, he had a complaint for us about "having to wait in line to talk to Jennifer." He said "Your friend Luana has a clipboard, and it's like she's the backstage bouncer who has a list of who gets into the VIP lounge!"

As noted as well, he asked us to reach out to his family who were in the midst of a court battle. I did so, privately, reaching out to a family member who agreed to look at what I transcribed from our session.  As noted, I have no idea what they made of that information, nor did I ask. I did as requested and passed his messages verbatim.

But Tom's 70th birthday is being celebrated this week, and I took the time to celebrate him through an interview.

Like my old friend Harry Dean Stanton, Randi was a skeptic about the afterlife. 

Despite being a famous magician in his day (He beat the record held by Houdini for an underwater escape live on NBC back in the 50's) like Houdini, he went from a working magician to someone who debunked, or outed "fake psychics."  

Anyone familiar with my work knows that I focus on data, that I work with mediums who work with law enforcement agencies nationwide... when they're skeptics I refer them to Bill Bratton former NYPD commissioner who was helped by Jennifer Shaffer.  If she's good enough for Bill, she's good enough for me.

But that's a joke - Jennifer has proven her abilities for a long time, and I met her five short years ago.  And over and over and over again, she's proven access to the flipside - not always 100% as she notes, because she is interpreting information after all - but for the most part I ask her questions based on my knowledge about the person we're chatting with and I transcribe what she says verbatim and those sessions are in the books "Backstage Pass to the Flipside" 1, 2 and 3.

But for those who have a vested interest in "debunkery" I've heard often the old saw that "you haven't tried the Amazing Randi's million dollar prize" for someone who "proves there is an afterlife or the paranormal." 

The last time I replied to a fellow on Quora about that, I pointed out that knowing that we still exist is worth more than a million bucks, and further, I had no desire to play that game of "prove it to me."  As I point out, in the 100 cases of people under deep hypnosis, (half without hypnosis) all of them recall previous lifetimes, all recall the between lives arena. So that makes their recollections "normal" as a base number for data - and those who "disbelieve the data" are the ones who are "para" or "ab" normal.

Jennifer and I present these sessions as they occur. I edit them for time, as she may take a minute to answer one of my impertinent questions. So for the sake of continuity, I trim those before I post the sessions.

Randi has a lot to say about his journey and to his husband Jose. Let's leave it at that. Since Jennifer had no idea who he was, it makes it that much more amusing to watch what he has to say from the flipside.

Then Regis Philbin stopped by - I knew Regis through our mutual pal Charles Grodin (as noted in the session) and Regis correctly recalled the day he met me on the Charles Grodin show where live on the air made fun of my "mixed outfit."  (A tie and a striped shirt).  Not a clothes horse like Reg, but he noted I was a misfit or mismatched. 

Later, I had dinner with him and his wife Joy and Charles and his wife in Connecticut, and have had a few laughs with Regis.  Always a polite guy and he had a quick comment for Charles about "slowing down" (even though last I heard he was still recording the Charles Grodin minute for KCBS in NYC.) Either way, it's one old friend talking to another.

But it was sweet to hear from him.  He's a nice guy.

And then Jennifer mentioned that she saw Paul Newman "in the wings."  As noted, he was someone I had invited previously, but got the impression he "wasn't interested" in chatting with me (which turns out to be the case.) He was more than happy to chat with Jennifer and we may continue the conversation in the future if he so desires.

He was funny, wise, spoke eloquently about the need to help those less fortunate than us. He had a message of love for his wife, and a comic message for John Cusack.

John Cusack and Paul Newman were in "Fat Man and Little Boy" together, I detail I did not know until I searched their names together on the net. 

All I can say is that I ask questions that pop into my head. 

The books "Flipside" "It's a Wonderful Afterlife," "Hacking the Afterlife," "Architecture of the Afterlife" speak to how it can be that we can still speak to our loved ones, and the books "Backstage Pass to the Flipside" 1, 2 and 3 are transcripts of our sessions, as well as the first two books include a workbook on how anyone can do the same for themselves.

Finally we have to thank Luana Anders for her assistance. We wouldn't have had a title if it wasn't for Tom's comment, and the idea that he sees her as a bouncer at the VIP lounge of the afterlife, is hilarious. Not something I could ever have thought up, and certainly, as you'll see not something Jennifer would have invented.

The Amazing Randi has a message for his pals Penn and Teller, and Paul Newman had a message for John Cusack.  It's in the session, so I won't repeat it here.  But it's a message of love and light from friends who are no longer on the planet, who want their friends and loved ones to know they're still keeping an eye on them. As do yours.

Message from Tom Petty and a Hindu deity

Today's session with Jennifer Shaffer was typical in the sense that it was mind bending.

As usual.


So today we chatted with two individuals.

One is a teacher on the flipside.  We met her once before, during a session where Jennifer's father Jim was asked "So what are you up to on the flipside?" and he took us to his classroom where he's learning astrophysics.

It's not like he waved us over to his class - he actually took Jennifer on a deep space trip, brought her to a "classroom" that seemed like it was "on the other side of the universe" where we met his teacher.  She told us her name, but recommended we just call her "Miss X" - as in "Madame X" or "Ms. X" because it was too hard to impart her particular name.

(This is a chapter in "Backstage Pass to the Flipside" where we visit this classroom in deep space.)

However, I must add that she seemed like someone who knew a vast amount of information, and Jennifer did her best to download what she was saying, what she looked like, etc.  In her physical description, she said that she had "eight arms."

So today, while chatting with Jennifer the topic of the bees dying from the recent earthquakes came up, and we decided to discuss it on camera in the midst of our noisy restaurant in Manhattan Beach.  

I asked "Who wanted to come forward and talk to us about the bees?" and Jennifer described this same teacher.

She did not remember where we'd met her before, but I did (that's what I'm good for, remembering obscure details) and I introduced them again.  "This is your father's astrophysicist professor" - Jennifer saw her in a high necked cape with her "hair" up on her head.  When asked about what color her hair was, Jennifer said "It's like looking at a prism.  There are many colors." (Never heard that description before.)

For those of you who are coming to this blog for the first time - I apologize.  I recommend picking up a copy of "Flipside" then "It's a Wonderful Afterlife" and then "Hacking the Afterlife" where we meet Jennifer, and the two books we've done together "Backstage Pass to the Flipside: Talking to the Afterlife with Jennifer Shaffer" to get to a place where you might be able to say "Oh yeah, so they're talking to a teacher who is from a classroom on the flipside."

There are thousands of students that attend her classes - we've seen that before, Jennifer sees them as "a string of lights" - of people learning from her about all things astrophysics-like.  In this case, I asked "So what's up with the bees dying off in California during the quake?"

She said "it's their frequency." As bees have a highly tuned system that the earthquake had thrown out of kilter.  "It's the equivalent of getting cancer - the bees don't get cancer, but the disruption of their inner core causes them to die."  I asked if anyone on Earth were aware of her as a teacher, and she said "Many know me as a deity in India."

Okay.

This deity's name is Durga.

I'm familiar with 8 handed deities - having been to India a bunch, Tibet as well - and am aware of how the 8 arms aren't there to help with performing a task but represent a metaphor.  Each arm is an accomplishment - could be compassion, wisdom, truth, etc.  I asked if she had any message to people in India who might follow her or know who I'm referring to.  She said "They're losing faith in the ability to believe in avatars."  

I argued with her - cause like, that's what I do - that my saying "People of India! Have more faith!" was pretty much what has caused many wars in India over the centuries - where faith becomes an issue and wars are born out of those arguments about whose deity is more important than another religion.  (I've been to India many times, and it's one of the most fascinating, ancient, spiritual places on Earth - but I'm just saying.  Who am I to tell anyone to "Have more faith?")

She didn't accede the point.  She just wanted to offer that "People in India will know who I am, and I represent "truth" to them."  

After the session, I looked up "8 armed deities" and found only one.  So that was unusual.  She is called "Durga" by devotees, and represents: "Durga (Sanskrit: दुर्गा, IAST: Durgā), identified as Adi Parashakti, is a principal and popular form of Hindu Goddess.[3][4][5] She is the warrior goddess, whose mythology centres around combating evils and demonic forces that threaten peace, prosperity and dharma of the good.[4][6] She is the fierce form of the protective mother goddess, willing to unleash her anger against wrong, violence for liberation and destruction to empower creation.[7]" (Wikipedia)

So well, there you have it.  Showed up in a restaurant in Manhattan beach to explain that bees are dying because the quake messed up their guidance systems, their frequency - that it messes with everyone's frequencies, but in the case of bees, they can't handle it. (Paraphrasing.)  Now you know. (Not really, but just reporting.)

On to more mundane topics.

So I asked "Anyone else need to reach out to us?"  Jennifer said "Well, Tom Petty popped into my head yesterday, then you (Rich) popped into my head, so I don't know what that means."  I said "Well, let's ask him - he's a member of our class."

He said he had a specific message for his daughter (or daughters, he has two.)  He said he wanted me to pass along that message to her.  (He didn't say them, he said "her.") #adriapetty #annakimviolette 

I asked him what that message might be.  

He told us.

I said "Tom, Mr. Wilbury, I can't pass that message along.  First your daughter is never going to hear that message from me, or understand why I'm saying it.  You have to give me something that will prove to her (or them) that this is you speaking to her (or them)."  

Jennifer said "He's showing me a belt buckle.  It's sparkly."  I said "Is it silver, gold..." she said "Rhinestone.  Or diamonds.  But it's a sparkly belt buckle that he gave his daughter."

I clarified.  "You mean he gifted her this, or it's part of something she inherited?"  

Jennifer replied, "He says "It was a gift."  He said "Also a car."  

I asked if the car was a gift, he said "No, something she inherited."  

I asked him for the make or color of the car.  Jennifer said "It's classic. I'm seeing that it's a convertible."

(Jennifer has no clue what cars Tom Petty owned or didn't own. I can look them up and I have.  He had a few.)

I said "Okay, so if I mention in a blog that Tom Petty showed up with a specific message for his daughter who got a sparkly belt buckle and a convertible, that person will know that this message is directly from Tom?"

"Yes."

I said "Well, I hear your message loud and clear - but it's not something I can write in a blog, or a post, so what I'm suggesting is that I will write this up into my blog, tell them via hashtags that I got a direct message from you, and if they want to hear it they should reach out to Jennifer. Is that okay?  Because even if they reach out to Jennifer and don't tell her who it is that is calling she will be able to pass along this message." (As I've filmed her doing in the past.)

He said "Yes."

(And for those paying attention, recently a person showed up to chat with us from the flipside, and after that chat, I reached out to his widow, did not tell Jennifer anything about this, and filmed this woman speaking directly to her husband as an experiment.  Jennifer had no idea who was coming to our session, and she correctly identified who he was, how many kids they had together, and what she had brought in her purse that were his.  All on camera.)

Got that?  Tom has a message for at least one of his daughters - maybe both - and it has to do with an issue that's important to him and he wants to reach out directly to them - and they can ask Jennifer what that message is and hear what it is.  (JenniferShaffer.com)

But I doubt that anyone reading this would believe what he had to say to me - someone who never met him, didn't know him - but he has shown up a number of times in our class (and is the source of the title "Backstage Pass."  He said "waiting to have Luana (my friend on the flipside) help people to access Jennifer was like someone waiting for the person with the list of people who get backstage passes.")
