Hacking the Afterlife with Frank Sinatra, MLK, Nelson, George and Marilyn

Latest podcast.  I had not turned on the tv that morning, was not aware that there was the protest in DC at Dr. King's memorial, was not aware that there was a memorial service for George Floyd occurring as we spoke.

There's some controversial stuff in here - but as I note, most of the folks we speak to had come to visit with us before. Frank Sinatra, Dr. King, Nelson Mandela, Marilyn.  When I say that "the night before the session, I asked Luana "Who needs to speak to us today?" and I got an image of a fellow - close up - and saw blue eyes.  And I said... "Who's this?" And the words "Old blue eyes" popped into my head.  So I assumed - at that point - based on doing this for years, that was who wanted to chat with us.

That morning, I asked someone "if you had one question to ask Frank Sinatra, what would it be?"

She said, without hesitation; "Who killed Robert Kennedy?"

So I asked in just that fashion. We weren't talking about it - Jennifer and I were not discussing it. As I note, when I thought/realized that it was "old blue eyes" who wanted to chat with us, I asked "what about? Is it a birthday, anniversary?" and I got an image of Nat King Cole.

The night before I had been writing something about Wendell Phillips high school in Chicago - which I attended briefly in a University of Chicago "exchange" program called "Project Wingspread" when I was in high school. Sam Cooke went there, Nat King Cole went there... and I experienced a semester there.

People used to ask me to play the piano. Elton John had just hit the city (1972) and I had learned some of his tunes "Take me to the Pilot" was one - "Holy Moses" another. I can remember getting stoned with these young south siders, seeing the first white person they'd ever seen in person (a few children rubbed my skin to see if it would rub off) - singing and playing rock and roll and some blues. I knew a few Muddy Waters tunes as well.

I can remember this as if it was yesterday. The faces of those kids smiling as I played.  Oddly enough - the south side accent was so strong - and people from Chicago will know what I'm talking about - half of the things kids said to me went right over my head.  I had a close friend, Frank Allen (Frank? Are you out there?) who we spent a lot of time hanging out. I stayed at his home in the projects Ida Be Wells lives! and he stayed with us up in Northbrook. (Mom would bring out the fine china when he dined, to this day I'm not sure why she'd do that - but it was funny at the time as well.)

I remember walking in the local grocery store with Frank, who's skin tone was a shade darker than blackberries - and another friend's mom "fainted" when she bumped into him.  Frank couldn't have been kinder, funnier, more charming - and I say that because I saw myself in him. Everything about us was the same - same position on the footbal team, same political views, same hopes and dreams... and yet he had been born on the South Side and me on the North Side.

He called me once from San Quentin.

And I had the same reaction everyone has hearing that. "It's Frank.. I'm calling you from San Quentin!"  I was like - oh shit, oh man, what happened?

He laughed. "Nothing happened. My brother works here as a guard."  Completely fooled me.

I found his brother on facebook and reached out to him recently - and I couldn't express myself in any way that would allow him to respond. Either he's mad at his brother, mad at white folks, or just mad - he didn't reply. But I did track him down - using the details of Frank's life that I could remember or knew.

Last time Frank Allen called me, he said he was "living with a crack ho" (his words) and using a stolen phone.  I said "You're joking."  He said "No. I'm not. Just wanted to see how you are doing."

We choose lifetimes for odd reasons. I know why I chose this one. To be able to write that sentence.

So - about that question; "who killed Robert Kennedy?"

Jennifer says "I'm seeing a President."  I had forgotten (honestly) but remember in that instant. She was talking about LBJ. And then the signal went haywire - but the last thing I asked was "Let's ask LBJ about that. Is that accurate?" And she said "He's saying he was only partially responsible."

Meaning members of his administration (or inner circle) were responsible. If true - and god knows I can't say it is - but it's reflected in deeper fashion in the book "Backstage Pass to the Flipside 3: Talking to the Afterlife with Jennifer Shaffer Book three" - the reference is to "members of his inner circle" who decided to eliminate the Kennedys and Marilyn - with the help of the Mafia and rouge members of the CIA.

I'm not making that claim - honestly - I'm just reporting. This is the second time I've asked - and the second time it's shown up.

I sent a transcript of the Robert Kennedy reports to a member of his family.  I did so because - I kid you not - I heard Senator Kennedy's voice in my apt. one evening. "I understand you're the person I need to speak to, to get a message to my family."  I've heard this before - but never in his voice. Startled, I said what I always say "Please seek out Luana, as she is our guide in this area, and if you want to speak to Jennifer, she can show you how."

And that following week we did an indepth interview with him.

There's no one in his family who is going to say (and his family has suffered immesurably being in the public eye) "I read this transcript and its accurate."  But I sent it along to inspire them - or those they know - to investigate what was being said.

Consistently. Repeatedly.  At the time, I referenced it in the podcast - I had made the comment about his death casually "That's old history. Who cares who killed someone 40 years ago? He's okay now, isn't he?"

And the following week I was excoriated by someone on the flipside.  I mean someone I didn't ask to speak with, who had shown up once before, came forward to say "You are wrong about people not caring about who killed someone. To you it's ancient history, but to us it was yesterday and defines who we are.  We are outside of your time, so what feels old to you may still be a wound to us. And ripping off those bandages can heal that wound."

Nothing quite like being scolded by someone on the flipside who is so famous I won't say her name. But not famous in the way that people like to think of fame - just someone in the public eye who lived over 180 years ago.

Anyways - see for yourself.  I just ask the questions.

A compliment from a reader of "Flipside"

When I first had a woman come up to me at a Flipside book talk and say "I wanted to look you in the eye and thank you for saving my life" I thought "Wow, I will never get a review like that from any film I might write or direct."

As I said to her, "This research is not about me - I'm just a guy who turns on a camera. It's about those who've let me share their interviews, experiences."

This email came to me yesterday. Sharing this with permission:

"Mr. Martini—

I just finished reading "Flip Side", and I just had to reach out and say "THANK YOU" for sharing all the information that I found therein (especially chapter 18 “Over the Rainbow”). Your work is indeed significant and important to mankind.

To say the least, it has touched my life, and given me the understanding and perspective I've needed to make the most of my remaining life--and that's a fact.

More specifically, our son died in 2016. I was devastated, as was my wife and 3 daughters--always a very close, tight family. The stress from our son's (passing) led my wife into an A-Fib heart condition, followed by repeated ablations.

In addition to wrestling with my own unanswerable questions, I've had to do all I could to help her cope with A-Fib and to console the inevitable sense of guilt that every mother seems to have in such situations, Although we're not extremely religious, we do have a faith in God and pray nightly for our son's soul. Chapter 15 (“Out of the Blue”) of "Flip Side" spoke to me directly in this context, and made the answers seem incredibly clear.

I have now shared the book with my wife and told her to read it and discuss it with me. When that moment comes, I now know exactly what we will discuss, as we both share the understanding and inner peace, which your book has provided. Thank you, sir, thank you.

I've had a 30-year interest in Plasma Physics, which led me to Quora, where I stumbled onto some of your responses and learned more about you. Hence my understanding of how high-energy photons can convert into matter and anti-matter (serving as the catalyst for the "Big Bang", IMO), enabled me to readily comprehend the concept of our souls as special packets of energy interacting with both our physical bodies and the ultimate source of all light/energy in heaven/"Home".

Makes good sense to me.

Except for our son’s death and its consequences, my wife and I have enjoyed good physical and mental health and a very happy and fulfilling life and family, and have never consulted any psychologist, psychiatrist, hypnotist, etc.

Like most people, we've just had a lot of questions which neither the Bible nor anyone else could really answer. You have now filled that void and have my sincerest thanks for doing so.

If your travels ever bring you to our city, I would love to thank you in person. In the meantime, thanks again for all that you have learned and shared through your books--and keep on keepin’ on!

Best regards always."

Backstage Pass to the Flipside 3 available on Audible NOW

Ladies and gentlemen... for your listening pleasure. I give you (well, I can't give it to you, you gotta use Audible) "BACKSTAGE PASS TO THE FLIPSIDE 3: TALKING TO THE AFTERLIFE WITH JENNIFER SHAFFER BOOK THREE." It's the culmination of at least two years of dragging Jennifer Shaffer out of her office into Fishbar in Manhattan Beach to film her "connecting" to people on the flipside.

In book one and two, we demonstrate how it's possible to connect to friends on the flipside, ask them questions that can be foreniscally verified (Harry Dean Stanton, Bill Paxton and others). In this book I just asked for whomever was in the news, in the zeitgeist, who showed up in my apt (not kidding, I'd hear a voice, recognize it and say "what do you want from me?" and I heard "I understand you're the person who can get a message to my family" -- and I would say "I'm not the person, but I know someone who can help. Get in line, get a pass from Luana Anders, and we'll chat with you this thursday."

Then - I KID YOU NOT - I would show up at Fishbar and she would look at me and say "So and so is here." Jaw dropped. "That's who stopped by to ask me to chat." And off we would go. This isn't for everybody - but it is for everybody. Did you know that your loved ones still exist and can chat with you?

Books one and two we offered a workbook on how to do that "without hypnosis, or without a medium" - but this book is just flat out interviews... one after the other, not judging who would show up, later looking up the details to see how accurate they might be.

For those who want to get a glimpse of the "technique" (or lack of it) we have a podcast up at "HackingTheAfterlife.com" or the videos are on "MartiniZone.com" - a lot of folks have asked me about the audible version - "Architecture of the Afterlife" should be out in a couple of weeks as well, but this book beat it to the gate.

I read these interviews aloud and try to do justice to the depth and emotion of what it is they're saying. Sometimes I succeed, more often I fail. But it's words and thoughts and feelings from the flipside. Enjoy.

A quora question about Paul McCartney and John Lennon

Question on Quora:

It would seem to me that someone like John Lennon would very readily connect/communicate with Paul McCartney given how close they were in life for so many years and what they experienced together. Is this a valid insight?

My answer:

I think if you ask Paul about it, he’ll tell you that they “chat all the time.” We tend to miss the idea that when a person doesn’t talk openly about their communications with their pals on the flipside, they aren’t happening. Lest we forget, it was a “vivid dream” that spawned “Let it be.” Paul very eloquently reported (it’s in the James Korden clip that everyone’s seen) that one night he had a dream that his mother came to him.

(I guessed this to be accurate, here's Paul talking about talking to John)

She had been gone for many years, but it was like she was in the room. And she was there to comfort him because he was worried about money. Her advice wasn’t “You’re going to become a zillionaire!” It wasn’t “Everything’s going to work out.” It was “Let it be.” It’s a profound sentence, and was “new information” for Paul. Seeing his mother, letting things be. (It’s the last chapter in “Backstage Pass to the Flipside book two).

As I note in the latest book “Backstage Pass to the Flipside 3” John had a similar experience when his mother passed away. But it came at the hands of Peter Fonda, the person who told him “I know what it’s like to be dead.” Peter was referring to his own near death experience - he accidentally shot himself as a teen - and he saw his mother (who had committed suicide). And he told John about it (while John was tripping on LSD).

While that story has been told as if John was “freaked out” by Peter whispering in his ear “I know what it’s like to be dead” - the song that came out of it reports something else. Basically, “I don’t’ want to hear that, because if what you’re saying is true, then it means that all the troubles of life are a waste of time - because when we die we return to a loving state of being. So why stay here?”
(“She Said, She Said”)

So Paul can answer this question (and I think he has a few times). They may converse “all the time.”

When doing this kind of unusual “cellphone” chats with the flipside, I always ask people “why they’re showing up.” In my case, I met a medium who is very talented at what she does (Jennifer Shaffer works with law enforcement agencies nationwide to help in missing person cases) and I realized, after interviewing her, that she was like having a “cellphone” to the flipside. (“Backstage Pass to the Flipside” books one, two and three) So I started with folks that I knew - people whose answers I could verify. (“Talking to Bill Paxton” is on Gaia where I interview my old friend via three different mediums).

Jennifer in action

By doing that I was able to verify that indeed, Bill answered my questions correctly. And then that expanded… Bill started to bring in people that we both knew (Harry Dean Stanton) and others. And from there it grew more - I worked with Ray Charles (he plays “God” in my film “Limit Up”) and everyone that Ray knew is able to “come forward.” I’ve asked them why that is.

Saturday Night Jive Podcast: 198: "Does That Mean Ray Charles Is A ...
Ray with Danitra Vance in "Limit Up"

“Frequency” is the answer. That everyone who chooses their avocation, radiates at the same frequency (generally). The focus on music, and expressing music ties all the musicians together on the flipside. I happen to know John’s son Julian (he’s in my film “Cannes Man”) so that opened that door. I asked him for specific things I could pass along to his son (and did.) I asked him about an event that occured when I was at Julian’s home. I phrased the question in such a way that the medium had to supply what happened.

I was sleeping on his couch when I suddenly heard a voice (about 6 am, and had a whopping hangover) say “Who the F#$k are you?” My eyes popped open, fully expecting to see someone (angry) leaning over the couch. But there was no one. And my brain said “What a minute. You know that voice.” I recognized the voice. But at the time, I didn’t mention it to Julian - because it was just too weird. It’s not like he said “Hey, how’s it going, tell my son I’m here.” So I let it go.

(Later, I heard the story how John had told Julian that "if there is an afterlife, I'll reach out to you via a white feather" and how when he was touring in Australia, some native Australians came to ask him for help in getting fresh water to their people. Julian said "I'll do whatever I can" and they handed him a white feather.  Which is how and why he created the White Feather Foundation.)

Then years later I’m doing this session with Jennifer Shaffer and I say (to John) “Can you demonstrate to the medium how we met?” And she said “He woke you up shouting” (or something like that.) Anyways, I’ve been doing this for over 5 years, so it’s not surprising to me anyway, and I’m not trying to trade off of John’s name or journey. But it allowed me to ask him (and Julian’s mom) some specific detailed questions which I shared privately with him.

Then later, (it’s also in book 3) I tried to “contact” someone I’d never met (Paul Allen, founder of Microsoft). On the way to see the medium, I asked for 3 folks who knew Paul to help. I knew Julian knew him, so I asked his pop, I knew Anthony Bourdain knew him (and we’d chatted with him before) and I suspected that Steve Jobs knew him (and we’d chatted with him before.) So on the way to the medium’s office, I said aloud “Can John, Anthony and Steve help me reach out to Paul?”

Well I won’t go into the details about what happened. Because they’re mind bending. Instead, I’ll offer to view this 90 minute film. It’s as it happened, in real time, in a noisy cafe… as well as some other guests who appeared and showed up to converse. I don’t know Paul Allen personally - but I feel like I do now.

Sunday

Memorializing Memorial Day and some evidence of the flipside

Mom, myself and Luana traipsing around Rome.
"Dad, why are you taking this picture?"
This question came in via Quora, where I randomly answer questions about the Flipside:

"I truly enjoy your entries. Thank you for sharing the information that you have found. Could I ask one question, though? What drove you to investigate this? Your content is like none other I have experienced before. How did you come about it?"

My answer:

"My best friend Luana Anders died. She started visiting me in dreams. Later that year, I was working in NYC on the Charles Grodin show (Charles was a great friend, and we became friends through her.)

I had seen James Van Praagh on Larry King and suggested we bring him on to see if he could converse with her. (Charles isn't a believer or non believer - he likes to remain open to both sides of any discussion).

So we designed an experiment. I called in the show directly from my home. Only Charles knew I was calling in.

James Van Praagh mentioned a few things, but two jumped out. The cocktail glass collection reference (my last name inspires comic gifts) and a photo on my refrigerator. It was the only photo I’ve ever put up where I said aloud - “Oh look: the essence of our relationship.” (Drinking cappuccinos and laughter. It's reported in “Flipside")

The photograph on my fridge he was referring to. There was only one.
When I put it up I said aloud "THE ESSENCE OF OUR RELATIONSHIP"

When he mentioned it I knew only one person in existence could know the story behind this photograph that he mentioned live on the air.

Later our 3 year old son wouldn't go upstairs. I asked him why. He pointed to the staircase and told me a woman was visiting him. I said “Who is visiting you?” He took me into the kitchen and pointed to THIS PHOTO on the fridge.

Worried he might never go upstairs again, I asked “Does she frighten you?”

He said “Dad. You can see right through her!”

I thought it over and said “Well, does she say anything to you?“

He nodded. “She says “I love you.”

I replied, “Well… that doesn't sound scary, does it?”

He paused, sighed and said “Okay" and went upstairs to bed.

(From "Flipside: A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife.")

Once one proves to themselves their loved ones still exist - experience won't prove it to anyone else, because it’s experiential - one stops wondering.

I started designing more ways to film or capture that experience. Hence the past ten years, two documentaries ("Flipside" and "Talking to Bill Paxton" on Gaia) and 8 books about the Flipside research.

Here’s the clip where James Van Praagh mentions the photograph - believe, don't believe - but this was the moment I realized there actually is a flipside:

My two cents

Winners of the "Talk to Luana" contest

Thanks to everyone who entered to win a free copy of the book "Backstage Pass to the Flipside 3" - a free PDF of the book has been sent to everyone who entered... (or will be sent, check the mailbox."

I asked people to ask Luana five questions. These folks had never met her, didn't know her, but as a demonstration that you can get an "answer" from someone on the flipside, I designed these questions in such a way that no one could answer them but a close friend of Luana's (none entered) or were actually speaking to Luana.

The answers to the questions are:

1. What was Jack Nicholson’s nickname for you?

(People might get an image or a sound, or something else. Whatever it is, don’t judge it, just write it down.)

The winning answer came from "Frances" in Florida, who said "I get an image of her standing with a clutch purse. The color of the purse was turquoise."  I asked what color that might represent, and she said "aquamarine?"  I said "That's close enough - The answer is "Blue." (Could have been a state of mind comment, but Jack has a nickname for all his pals.)

2. What city did your mother own property in, that we went to visit?

(Again, hard for them to use “words” – an image might come to mind, or an image of a person might appear; just note whatever that is.)

One person answered this correctly; "New Mexico."  Her mother brought property there in the 1960's, Luana and I went to visit it later in her life, and it was specifically in Santa Fe. New Mexico was/is correct.

3. What was the name of your dog that you found wandering the streets of West Hollywood?

(Hint: This name is also the name of a city.  Again – try not to judge it, but listen carefully for the name of a city, or a place on a map – if you get a state ask “north, south, east or west?” until you take out a map, look at the cities on the map and “ask her to direct you to the correct one.”)

One person answer "Jose" - which in Spanish would be as in "San Jose" - but it's close to "Boyse" - which was her nickname for "boys town" or West Hollywood.  I called him "Boise" (hence the hint) but Boyse is more accurate than Boise - and close enough to Jose to suggest a winning entry.

4. Name the cat in this photo.

Painted by Luana

(Hint: Not Mr. Bailey who is someone she often refers to.  Cat shares the name with a friend of hers, and a person with the same name may appear.)

This cat's name was "Robert."  However, a number of folks said "Kit Cat" or "Kitty Cat" - I don't remember Robert being referred to as such - but who knows? Maybe he is on the flipside. So no one got this correctly, but that's fine; Robert doesn't mind.

5. What is your uncle’s first name, who was the brother to your mother?

(Hint: an image of someone with the same name might come to mind. She would have called him "Uncle ____")

This is a tough one - and I'll leave her uncle out of this since no one reported his name correctly. He was an unusual uncle of hers, had an unusal life and Luana took care of him in his elder years.

The point of this exercise was to inspire folks to do the same kind of "self experiment" with their own loved ones.  Not with Luana per se - but with anyone that we knew that was on the planet.

Devise your own "five questions" or ten, or twenty.  Take out a photograph and ask them to reply.  They don't have to reply with sound, could be an image ("clutch purse that's blue") could something that pays off later.  Try not to hung up in the "proving" part - as Harry Dean Stanton told us (In "Backstage Pass to the Flipside 1") "Believe in the possibility of an afterlife, then you won't waste any more of your time arguing about it like I did."

Sage advice.

But in this case, talk to them.  Ask them questions. Repeat the questions in different locations - their favorite restaurant, a beach. Ask questions you don't know the answer to - 'When you hear an answer before you can ask the question then you'll know you've made a connection."

Books and awards will be sent out as we speak - and the winner to Jennifer's raffle (a free hour with her) will be notified privately by email (and will announce here if they ask me to.)

Thanks for playing along!

"Architecture of the Afterlife" and "Backstage Pass to the Flipside 3" will be on audible in a few weeks. Stay tuned.

Israel KamakawiwoÊ»ole’s 61st Birthday

While interviewing a woman for "Architecture of the Afterlife" she suddenly announced that "Iz" (Israel) was one of her "guides." I asked "him" the same questions I do to anyone I meet on the flipside about his life, who greeted him when he crossed over. I asked about the song "Over The Rainbow" and she said "he's saying it was a tribute to someone named Pa-ha-nui." I asked if she knew who that is and she said "No." I asked him directly if he was referring to Gabby Pahanui, the father of Hawaiian slack key guitar (who I saw on a trip in the 70's in Honolulu). She said "He's shouting ""Shi hu!" over and over again!" I asked if she knew what that meant, she did not. "He keeps repeating it like he's excited that you understood." Later, I asked a friend from Hawaii what it means - she said "It's "chee hoo" - a samoan term we use as slang for "Right on!" or "Woo hoo!" So "Chee Hoo!" Iz and Happy Birthday. Google made a meme for you.

Details about her can be found at JenniferShaffer.com.

The other part of the contest is in honor of our friend Luana Anders' birthday is May 12th.

For those familiar with Luana, they know she is the inspiration for this research into the flipside, and has been helping me and Jennifer to write these “Backstage Pass to the Flipside” books.

As a proof of concept – this part of the contest goes like this:

1. As an experiment, imagine or pretend that you could ask Luana some questions. You don’t need a medium to do this, or a hypnotherapist – a simple ability to do a meditation helps but is not required.  Imagine her sitting across from you.  Picture whatever outfit you have in mind, or let her show up in whatever outfit she prefers. Pay attention to colors, fabric, jewelry, etc.

2. Ask her some questions. She can put an image (or sound) in your mind’s eye, and those will constitute the answers to the questions you’re going to ask.

3. If you “hear” or sense an answer prior to asking the question, well, you’re ahead of the game. But it is a game, it is pretend. No one is harmed by this game.

You’re not “inviting spirits” into your life or home – you’re asking specific questions to one person who left the planet in 1996.

I had a dream recently where we discussed this. And in the podcast this week (the video of the podcast is at Martini.zone as “Mother’s Day”) and she thought this would be a novel idea. As noted, she’s appeared in dreams to strangers and friends of mine – I try not to judge their experience (it’s their experience, not mine) and because I’ve been doing this unusual exploration for so long, I stopped judging whatever people wanted to share with me.

So – one can ask their own questions to her – and post those comments in an email to me.  Something like this:

1. “I got nothing for a long time” and then I got an image of a cat.

2. “It’s funny, but an image of her in a movie popped into my mind. I don’t know what it means  but here’s what I saw…”

3. I asked your specific questions, and here’s what I got; “blah blah blah.”

I will take any and all comments into consideration. If you have a dramatic tale to tell about something else, by all means, share it.  The “winners” of this competition will receive a free PDF of the book “Backstage Pass to the Flipside 3.”  Free.  A gift from Luana in honor of her birthday.

Okay, here are the questions in no particular order.

1. What was Jack Nicholson’s nickname for you?

(People might get an image or a sound, or something else. Whatever it is, don’t judge it, just write it down.)

2. What city did your mother own property in, that we went to visit?

(Again, hard for them to use “words” – an image might come to mind, or an image of a person might appear; just note whatever that is.)

4. Name the cat in this photo.

Painted by Luana

(Hint: Not Mr. Bailey who is someone she often refers to.  Cat shares the name with a friend of hers, and a person with the same name may appear.)

5. What is your uncle’s first name, who was the brother to your mother?

(Hint: an image of someone with the same name might come to mind. She would have called him "Uncle ____")

So the way they communicate is with images for the most part. Some can use sound – I heard her say my name the other day, it woke me up, because she repeated it aloud.  “Richard” First time I thought “oh, that’s a dream.” Second time I thought “What? Is the house on fire?” Jumped out of bed and looked around. I think she was just testing me.

Think of it as a game. Y’all are going to use your powers of mediumship (we all have them) and you are going to ask someone you’ve never met (it’s fine if you knew her, you don’t know the answers to these questions readily either) but you may have met her – and she may trick you into giving a weird answer that I can unpack.  (Like seeing an image of a "Rose."  She might have been trying to say the word "pink" or "red" or "Rosie." What you see is supposed to lead you (or me) to the answer).

Please include WHAT THE IMAGE WAS THAT YOU SAW so I can unpack it.
With her Broadway costar in the 60's Michael Gough in the 80's.

Like you ask for a name and you see an image of “Dennis Hopper” may lead us to a name like “Dennis” – or it could lead us to the film “Easy Rider” which she starred in opposite her old pal Dennis.  And leading us to “Easy Rider” might lead us to Peter Fonda…  but you get the idea.  Don’t judge the answer; I’ll know how to unpack it.

Contest starts when you read this post, ends on midnight the 22nd.

No one needs to purchase a book to participate in the “guess what Luana’s answers would be" portion of the contest.

Those folks who answer one question correctly will get a PDF of the book.  But those who purchase a copy of the book (kindle or paperback) and send a confirmation photo of their purchase to "MartiniProds @ gmail" are entered into the grand prize contest – which is an hour long session with Jennifer at a future date. Send complete entries to my attention at MartiniProds (at) gmail.com

Stay tuned!

Watch Cannes Man | Prime Video

24 years ago walking down the croisette with Rebecca Broussard we ran into the crew who shot our film "Point of Betrayal."

Here's the trailer:
https://www.imdb.com/video/vi3863648793

Seymour cast Rebecca as his wife, I appeared and hung out since the then director had been relieved of command. Made pals with late Francesco Quinn. When i got back to LA producer Coleman invited me to fix it. I added a story inside the story, bookends, tied the improv together and it sat on a shelf for 16 years.

Luana Anders' last role (as a phone call at a funeral). Lots of pals in it some no longer on the planet (one notorious cameo is in prison). Payment was a return all expense trip to Cannes to promote with Rebecca. Producer insisted on credits, original director is credited at the end (who threatened to kill me for finishing it).

Lots of laughs, made for a nickel, still funnier than any film about the fest before or since.

Cannes Man https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B004QM7XFS/ref=atv_dp_share_r_tw_fab0e38df5764

Julie McCann Quinn is in it! Peter Tunney! Ann Cusack! The doorman from Pakistan at Rocket pix! Tim Meinelschmidt and Nancy Rainford ! Nat Berstein! Mitchel Katlin! Bob Evans! Randal Kleiser! Eha Urbsalu! (The last Miss USSR) Larry Kasanoff! (And johnny depp, jim jarmusch, dennis hopper, john Malkovich and other notables of the croisette). It's still funny. Insane it took 24 years to come out. But since i don't make a dime, i can't offer a money back guarantee. Can't go to Cannes? Watch this instead.
